Mrs. Lib Brown Hill Carter

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Brown Hill Carter, age 83 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Lib was born in Patrick County, VA on July 15, 1929 to Merlin Sparger and Phoebe Bondurant Brown. Lib lived a full and enjoyable life that touched the lives of many others and "did it her way". Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Martha Hill of Orlando, FL; a daughter-in-law, Frances Hill of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Derek, Chris, Ashley, Ryan, Matt and Chelsi Hill and Stacy Combs; two step grandchildren Shawn and Austin Akers; twelve great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edith Brown; a brother-in-law, Jim Baum and loving pet Curly. In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by a son, Mike Hill; her first husband, Warren Hill, her second husband, Carl Carter; a sister, Dorothy Scales Baum and a brother, Joe Bill Brown. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 11th at Skyline Memory Gardens by Eric Sawyers and followed by a "Celebration of Life" at 5:00 PM with a pot luck dinner at Fellowship Church at 5101 Ararat Highway, Ararat, VA. The family wishes to express a special thanks to The Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home and requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory, be made to them at 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
