Mrs. Lillian Helms Hylton

Mrs. Lillian Helms Hylton, age 96 of Meadows Of Dan, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on May 12, 1917 to the late William Emory Helms and Flora Hylton Helms. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hylton was preceded in death by her husband, F. Curtis Hylton; a sister, Dorothy Helms Spangler; and a brother, Lane Howard Helms. Mrs. Hylton was a lifetime member of Mountain View United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years. She had retired from Skyline Sportswear in Floyd and enjoyed working at the Enterprise.
Surviving are two daughters, Anne Shelor Taylor and husband, Todd, and Linda Hylton all of Meadows of Dan; three grandchildren, Cheminne Taylor-Smith and husband, Matt Smith, Lane Songer and husband, T.J. , Jinna Smith; five great grandchildren, Aana Taylor-Smith, Cole Songer, Nicholas Smith, Jacob Smith, Emory Smith. She was adopted as a "special Mom" by a "3rd" daughter, Gail Harding of Patrick Springs.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home with Pastors Terry Martin and Norman Biggs officiating. Burial will be at a later time in the Mountain View United Methodist church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
