Mrs. Lillian Simmons Jackson, age 75, of Thurmond, NC passed away on Wednesday morning at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Surry County on January 30, 1937 to the late Roy Simmons and the late Hallie Wilmoth Simmons. She was retired from Masonic and Easter Star Home of Greensboro, NC, and was a member of Austin Full Gospel Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Jackson; one grandchild Charles "Chuck" Winebarger; five sisters LaVaude, Pearl, Edna "Ted", Dallie, Mozelle; three brothers Arley, Raymond, T.R.Jr.; a nephew Dale "Buddy" Scott. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Vanessa and James Jackson of Traphill, NC; one son and daughter-in-law Tony Wayne and Robin Winebarger of McGrady, NC; four grandchildren Toni Price, Robert Wayne Winebarger, Harley Davidson Winebarger, Jason Jackson; eight great grandchildren Tyler, , Haley, Malachi, Robert Lee, Hunter, Rylan, Cheyenne, Jamie ; she was survived by several nieces and nephews that she cherished with a mother's love. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 4th, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the White Oak Cemetery in Thurmond. Rev. Jimmy Welborn and Rev. Jerry Dale Simmons will conduct the services. The Family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Moody-Davis Funeral Home and at other times at her home in Thurmond. The family wants to give a special thanks to her friends and neighbors Jerry and Esteleen Price. Flowers will accepted or memorials may be made to the White Oak Cemetery Fund C/O of John and Edith Holbrook 2794 US Hwy 21, Thurmond, NC 28683.
