Ms. Lillie Elmo Martin, age 80 of Stuart, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on September 1, 1933 to the late Burdin and Leora Fulcher Martin. In addition to her parents, Ms. Martin was preceded in death by five brothers, John McKinley, Lewis, Curtis, Camden and Winfred Martin; and three sisters, Cubie Martin, Berdie Walker and Frances Chumley. She was retired from Bassett Chair, and was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Martin is survived by one special niece and nephew, Charlotte and Chester Prillaman of Stuart; two special great nieces, Breanna and Madison Halsey; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ms. Martin will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell and Rev. Harold Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
