Mrs. Linda Carol Smith Cox

Mrs. Linda Carol Smith Cox, 65, of State Road passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on June 28, 1948 to Ethel Marie Lyles Smith and the late Ernest James Smith. Mrs. Cox was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and a dedicated member of Charity Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, Danny Cox of the home; two sons, Eric James Smith of State Road and Joshua Cox, of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Joe Johnson of Poplar Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Beverly Smith of Elkin and Donnie and Kathy Smith, also of Elkin. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Charity Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Brian Cardwell, Rev. Claude Lloyd and Rev. Bobby Lyles with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 pm until the hour of the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Cox family.
