Mrs. Linda Martin Layman

Mrs. Linda Martin Layman, age 47 of Stuart, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at her home. She was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on August 25, 1960 to Willie Reed Martin of Stuart and the late Norma Jean Hylton. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Leon Martin and her step-father, Kenneth Hylton. She had worked at Narroflex, Inc. and was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Patrick County High School, and received an Associate's Degree from Patrick Henry Community College.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Layman is survived by her husband, James Richard "Ricky" Layman of the home; five aunts, Mary Lou Bray of Smith Mountain Lake, Martha Martin of Bassett and Nancy Strother, Charlotte Prillaman and Judy Martin, all of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Layman will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jerry Whitlow and Rev. Bernard Handy officiating. Burial will follow in Knowles-Eden Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Jimmy and Christine Layman and the home of Nancy Strothers, 324 Glenwood Terrace Loop, Stuart.
