Mrs. Lois "Ergie" Bowman

Mrs. Lois "Ergie" Nunn Bowman, age 90 of Claudville, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center. Mrs. Bowman was born in Patrick County on October 20, 1921 to Abe and Layla Smart Nunn. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and a devoted member of the Church of Christ Stuart. Surviving are a daughter and sons-in-law, Beatrice and Trenton Spence and Philip Anderson; sons and daughters-in-law, R. C. and Bonnie Bowman, Johnny Bowman and Rita Bowman all of Claudville; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Zelma Doss of Claudville; and special friends, David Truitt and Rachel Love. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Pate Eugene Bowman and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Church of Christ Stuart by Rev. James Persival and Aaron Blackard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the church.
