Mrs. Lois Ilene Cox Mabe

Mrs. Lois Ilene Cox Mabe, age 81 of Lawsonville, North Carolina passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at her home. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on May 8, 1927 to the late Samuel David and Mattie Anderson Cox. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her husband, Aunice Mabe; two brothers, Walter and Fred Cox; and three sisters, Hallie Bondurant, Vera Smith and Inez Cooke. She was a member of the Lawsonville Church of God and was retired from J.P. Stevens Corporation. She loved her garden, birds and flowers.
Mrs. Mabe is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Diann Bennett, Gail and Rickey Bennett, Donna and Stanley Lawson; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lala Mabe, Jeffrey and Vicki Mabe, all of Lawsonville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Zane and Mycleta Cox of Pfafftown, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabe will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Lawsonville Church of God with Rev. Richard Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lawsonville Church of God, and at other times at the homeplace.
