Mrs. Lola Irene Inman Gammons

Mrs. Lola Irene Inman Gammons, 94 of Mt. Airy passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. Mrs. Gammons was born April 6, 1919 in Surry County to the late Matt and Sally Ann Adams Inman. She was a housewife, a farmer's wife and a charter member of Albion Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Tim Dillon of Mt. Airy, one son and daughter-in-law, Linwood and Rebecca Gammons of Elon, NC., grandchildren Carla Dillon and fiance Brian of Mt. Airy and Sarah Jones and husband Jason of Burlington, great grandchild Brayden and two sisters Dellie Lewis of Kernersville and Erline Cranford of Archdale. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gammons was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Gammons, two sisters Minnie Rogers, Bertha Martin and by five brothers Grady Inman, Harvey Inman, Ramey Inman, Roy Inman and Grover Inman. Funeral services will be held Monday April 22, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Richard Loman with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the following who helped to make the last years fulfilling, the entire staff of Central Continuing Care, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, a special home care aid Kathy Arrington, and extraordinary neighbor Gladys Creed who was like a sister and the numerous other friends and relatives.
