Mrs. Lola Mae Hill Harris, age 100, of 863 West Main Street, Pilot Mountain widow of Mr. R. J. Harris passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2012 at the Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born August 23, 1911 in Surry County, NC to the late R.J. and Catherine Tucker Hill. She was a homemaker and was a member of Hills Presbyterian Church and was an elder in the Pilot Mountain Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Harris was a life time director of Hope Valley, Inc. in Dobson, NC. Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Cleve and Deborah Harris of Pilot Mountain, and Myrna Harris, Winston-Salem, 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, and last but not least, Jasper Elliott, Pilot Mountain. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Simmons, two sons, J.T. Harris and Roger Harris, four sisters, Mary Venable, Lillie Haymore, Ruth Etta Willard and Winnie Jessup and four brothers, Joe Hill, Mosby Hill, James Monroe (Crickett) Hill and Carl Hill. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Hills Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Mandy Santolla. Burial will follow in Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 am Thursday until time of the service at Hills Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hills Presbyterian Church, 266 Hills Presbyterian Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to Hope Valley, Inc. 105 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express a "special thanks" to the staff of Oak Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center and especially to Tina, Cheryl, Eva, Aretha and Ethel.
