Mrs. Lucille Shropshire Marion

Mrs. Lucille Shropshire Marion 83, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born June 4, 1934 to the late Jess Martin and Mae Easter Shropshire. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Charles Richard Marion of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Malia Marion of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; one grandchild, Adam Marion; four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Mya, Kayleigh and Adalyn Marion; step-grandchild, Nolan and wife, Julie Payne; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Shropshire; two nephews Marty and Anthony Shropshire of Dobson; twelve nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews all of Michigan and Indiana; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Jasper and Jean Marion, Dot Marion all of Mt. Airy; special sister-in-law and husband, Sarah Jane and David Browne, of Anderson, SC; special cousin, Betty Lou Vaughn, of High Point; special friends, Ray and Dot Riggs of Mt. Airy; In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by step-grandchild, John Payne; brother, Carl Haywood Shropshire and a sister, Irene Dolin; brother-in-law, Roger Marion. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Blues Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Travis Sechrist, Rev. Roland McCraw, and Rev. Sammy Lawson will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Blues Grove Baptist Church on Friday evening from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Marion Family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Blues Grove Baptist church building fund at 3069 Red Brush Rd., Mount Airy NC 27030.
