Mrs. Lucy Lee Spencer Martin

Mrs. Lucy Lee Spencer Martin, age 80 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on July 26, 1928 to the late Bunice and Mildred Hicks Spencer. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Martin, Jr.; three brothers, Oneal, Lester and William Henry Spencer; and two sisters, Mildred Turner and Annie Sue Pullins. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and was retired from Bassett-Walker Industries.
Mrs. Martin is survived by four daughters, Patricia Ann Martin of Stuart, Mrs. Grover (Brenda) Cropps of Ararat, North Carolina; Norma Jean Martin of Stuart and Mary Martin of Stuart; three sons, Robert Martin and wife, Marian, of Yonkers, New York, James L. Martin of Stuart and Anthony R. Martin and wife, Laura, of Stuart; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Spencer of Yonkers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Joseph Carter, Sr. officiating, with a wake being held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
