Mrs. Lula Mae Walters

Mrs. Lula Mae Lawson Walters, age 84, of Dobson, NC passed away on Monday, August 14, 2018 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  She was born in Surry County on August 23, 1933 to the late Jacob and Lula Mae Mayes Lawson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Walters; two sons, Larry Walters and Denny Walters; and six brothers.  Surviving is her granddaughter, Krystal (Gray) Matthews; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Cassandra Matthews.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 17, 2018 in the cemetery of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road, NC, conducted by Rev. Glinard Lawson.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church General Fund, PO Box 130, State Road, NC 28676.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Walters family. There will be no services held at the funeral home.
