Mrs. Lura Mae Norman Edwards

Mrs. Lura Mae Norman Edwards, age 85 of Mount Airy passed away, Friday, November 20, 2015. She was born March 29, 1930 in Surry County to the late Lace and Minnie Norman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ervin Edwards; two daughters; Judy Cummings and Bonnie Edwards; and one son; Roger Dale Edwards; and a grandson, James Dale Edwards
She is survived by her daughters; Flora and Kenneth Cobler of Mount Airy; Nellie and Glen Luffman of Dobson; Linda and James Beck of Mount Airy; and Imogene Hemmings of Dobson; and one son Arthur Ray and Debra Edwards of Zephyr .Additionally, Mrs. Edwards has 27 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 25 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2015 from 12-2 PM at Zephyr Baptist Church in Elkin, NC. The funeral will follow at 2 PM with Reverend Craig Key, Reverend Chad Hemmings and Reverend Kenneth Young officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody-Davis Funeral Service, to help with final expenses.
