Mrs. M. Elva Boaz

Mrs. M. Elva Boaz, age 98 of Stuart passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on April 25, 1911 to the late Edmond Thomas Wood and Susan Angie Stowe Wood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boaz was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Lee Mabe and her second husband, William Robert Boaz; seven brothers, and infant and Sam, Ernest, Harry, Frank, Bert and John Wood; and two sisters, Delma Bowden and Martha Lavender. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith, and had worked for J. P. Stevens.
Mrs. Boaz is survived by several nieces and nephews and neighbors.
Funeral services for Mrs. Boaz will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Ken Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of James and Jean Wood, 3739 South Mayo Drive, Stuart.
