Mrs. Mabel Lowe Bryant

Mrs. Mabel Lowe Bryant, 79, of Lowgap passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Surry County on September 26, 1933 to the late Ernest and Gladys Worrell Lowe. Mrs. Bryant was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bryan Shinault of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ann Bryant of Lowgap; two grandchildren, Joseph Shinault of Dobson and Elijah Bryant of Lowgap; a special great niece, Dawn Stockner of Galax, VA; a special great nephew, Justin Smith of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M. Bryant; two sisters, Faye Lowe and Ruth Smith; three brothers, Andy, Roy and Hardy Lowe. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Elmer Barker and Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night at the church from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
