Mrs. Mae Juanita Anderson Gammons, 84 of Stuart, VA, passed away Friday December 9, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born September 3, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late Roy Samuel and Bertie Palmer Anderson. She was a long time member of Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church and retired from Spencer's Inc. in Mt Airy. She was a Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She had a strong faith in the Lord, was a very kind person that cared for everyone, enjoyed her cats and time with her "Food and Fun" friends. Other than her parents, Mrs. Gammons was preceded in death by her husband; Elder Thaxter Aldrich Gammons, a son; Samuel Anderson Gammons and a sister; Marie Anderson Tatum.
Surviving Mrs. Gammons are four Daughters and sons-in-law; Linda Mitchell and husband Alan of Claudville, VA, Donna King of Rural Hall, NC, Faye Jessup and husband Dwight of Claudville, VA, Teresa McCormick and husband Dean of Claudville, VA. Five sons and daughters-in-law; William A. Gammons and wife Geraldine of Winston Salem, NC, Dale T. Gammons and wife Nancy of Kernersville, NC, Kennith R. Gammons and wife Deborah of Stuart, VA, Timothy R. Gammons and wife Elecia of Claudville, VA and Thomas E. Gammons and wife Karen of Kernersville, NC; Fifteen Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Gammons will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday December 12, 2011 at Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Clarence Bowman and Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. Mrs. Gammons will lay in State for one half hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening December 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and other times at the home of Linda Mitchell, 57 Dan Valley Farm Road, Claudville, VA.
