Mrs. Magdalene Creed

Mrs. Candis Magdalene East Creed, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Creed was born August 12, 1942, in Surry County, to the late Wilburn and Mary Inez McMillian East. Magdalene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was also a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Candis and Joey Timmons and Sheila and Wayne Hylton, all of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne and Debbie Creed of Pilot Mountain and Jeffrey and Chrissy Creed of Mount Airy; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel and Donald Marion, Ruby George, Jewell and the Rev. Bill Faw, Billie Jo and Mickey Bouldin, and Diane and Gary Barnes, all of Mount Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Jewel East, of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mario and Pat Rizzi of Swanton, OH, and Dean and Ellen Deter of Elk Creek, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Luther Wallace Creed; two sisters, Mary Lina East Wall and Ruth Louise East Creed; three brothers, Junior East, Johnny East, and Denny East. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Little Mountain Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Creed and the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Little Mountain Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
