Mrs. Maggieleane Haynes Upchurch

Mrs. Maggieleane Haynes Upchurch, 84, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on December 12, 1933 to the late, Foy and Gracie Hudson Haynes. Mrs. Upchurch retired from Bassett Furniture and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters, Vickie Upchurch of Westfield, Cathy Fleming of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Mary Chappell of Ararat, NC, James and Angel Upchurch of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Ashburn of Pilot Mountain; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Martha Haynes of Westfield; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upchurch was preceded in death by her husband, James Raleigh Upchurch; a grandson, Joshua Chappell; two brothers, Walter and William Haynes; two sisters, Rosa Lee Bowman, and Elsie Gwyn. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards-Upchurch Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Upchurch family.
