Mrs. Margaret Fay Reece Moncus

Mrs. Margaret Faye Reece Moncus, 68 of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Moncus was born in Surry County, October 3, 1943 to the late C. W. "Dock" and Ella Gunnell Reece. She was retired from Time Warner Cable and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Monk" Moncus of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Barbara Moncus of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Jason Robert Moncus, Jr. and Allison Brooke Moncus; sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva Freeman, Carol and Wade Haynes all of Mt. Airy; brothers, Leon and Freddy Reece both Mt. Airy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Christine Reece of Cana, VA., Annie Mae and Eddie Scott of Mt. Airy, David Moncus of Boonville; several nieces and nephews; a special best friend, Madeline Young of Mt. Airy, and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moncus was preceded in death by grandchild, Baby Moncus; brothers, C.W. Reece, Jr. and Larry Reece. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Eaton and Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Shining Light Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
