Mrs. Margaret Puckett Sowers

Mrs. Margaret Puckett Sowers, age 81 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on May 16, 1934 to the late Henry and Nannie Kate Burge Puckett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sowers was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylon Kenneth Sowers; three brothers, Harry, Terry and Elbert Puckett; and one sister, Mildred Shelton. She was a member of Collinstown Presbyterian Church and had worked in the cafeteria at Stuart Elementary School and at United Elastic. She was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and sister.

Mrs. Sowers is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Shannon Sowers of Stuart; one granddaughter, Amanda Robertson and husband, Derick of Patrick Springs; one great-grandson, Toby Robertson; one brother and sister-in-law, Morris and Norma Puckett of Meadows of Dan; and one sister, Juanita Mitchell of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Shaun Draughn and Pastor Tracey Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at her home.
