Mrs. Margaret Cummings Ullrich

Mrs. Margaret Cummings Ullrich, age 79 of Patrick Springs, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her home in the loving care of her family. She was born in Patrick County on January 18, 1937 to the late Casper Doctor “Dock” Cummings and Sallie Mae Koger Cummings. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ullrich was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth Ullrich; three brothers, Cecil E., Clayton H. and Charles R. Cummings; one sister, Mary V. L. Cummings; and a sister-in-law, Mary Frances Gates Cummings. She had been a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church, and had served honorably in the United States Air Force where she met the love of her life. She never met a stranger and was beloved by many all over the world. She considered Patrick County her home, no matter where she traveled.

Mrs. Ullrich is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard L. Ullrich, Sr. of the home, three daughters, Marian Ann Ullrich of Patrick Springs, Marie Allison Ullrich CDR, USN of San Diego, California and Myra K. Trent and husband, Thomas of Patrick Springs; one son, Howard L. Ullrich, Jr. of Patrick Springs; two grandchildren, Emily N. Trent and Evan T. Trent; a very special niece, Regina G. Galloway of Van, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor John Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent-Cummings Family Cemetery. The Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard will be conducting military rites. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the church, and at other times at the home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Ullrich to the Salem United Methodist Church, 159 Salem Church Road, Patrick Springs, Virginia 24133, or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Charmaine Atkins, P.O.
