Mrs. Margarete "Gretel" Brown

Margarete “Gretel” Brown, 78, passed away peacefully her home on November 27th, 2017. She was born in Germany on April 24, 1939.

Gretel was born to Ida and Franz Moseleit in Haltern am see, Germany. She grew up in Germany with her 6 brothers and sisters.

Gretel’s passion for helping others lead her to become a nurse in her hometown.
She met her husband Jackie Brown while he was stationed at Hahn Airforce base in spring of 1960. In October of that year they were married.

Gretel and her husband Jack would travel the world together while he served in the United States Air Force.

Gretel is survived by her husband Jackie Brown, three children Debbie Amos, Cathy James and Jackie Brown Jr., six grandchildren Deleon Amos, Crystal Volk, Andrew Hill, Lili Amos, Deon Amos and Jared Pittsenbarger and six Great-Grandchildren Angel Hill, Anna Walton, Maria Walton, Catherine Walton, Katelyn and Eliana Volk.

Gretel was a kind and loving person with a passion for teaching our youth. She spent six years at Stuart Elementary School as a teaching assistant for computer classes and Mrs. Reynolds 4th Grade classes.

Gretel loved to travel the world however she was never more comfortable then in her home here in Stuart, VA.

The Family has chosen to honor her wishes and not hold funeral services. Instead her remains will be cremated and scattered into the Caribbean Ocean by her beloved husband Jackie Brown.
