Mrs. Margie Ann Parrish Gammons, age 73 of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. She was born in Kernersville, North Carolina on June 8, 1939 to the late Clyde B. and Emily Pruitt Parrish. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gammons was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Robert Gammons; two brothers, Junior Parrish and Bobby Parrish; and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Gammons. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Martinsville. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and was affectionately known as "Little Granny."
Mrs. Gammons is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sherry Gammons of Ridgeway, Danny and Debbie Gammons of Martinsville; two grandsons, Jackie Gammons and wife, Beth, Gary Gammons and wife, Misty; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alyson, Lyndsey and Austin Gammons; one brother, Jimmy Parrish of Claudville; and one sister, Faye Fain of Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Larry Luffman and Brother Bob Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Stateline Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times as the home.
