Mrs. Marie Caroline Riddle Mabe

Mrs. Marie Caroline Riddle Mabe, age 81, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at Universal Healthcare in King. Mrs. Mabe was born in Surry County on December 31, 1935, to William Sherman and Elsie Johnson Riddle. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Delana Shockley; and Debra and Morris Haynes; a son and daughter-in-law, Rickie and Kaye Mabe; grandchildren, Lisa Eads and husband, Will; Carmen Smith and husband Stan and Miranda Haynes; great-great grandchildren, Reece Watson and Carley Smith and step great grandchildren, Jackson Smith and Macy Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Paul Phillips; and brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray Riddle and Leon and Ina Riddle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Franklin Mabe; a sister, Mary Norman and by a brother, Talmon Riddle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Winfred Davis and Rev. Eddie Phillips. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
