Mrs. Marie F. Smith

Marie F. Smith, 91, died at Dobson, North Carolina Hospice Home on February 27, 2017. Born on October 8, 1925 in Port Jervice, New York and resided most of her life on Long Island, NY. Marie worked at Brookhaven Hospital where she was loved and respected by all, as she had a mutual love and respect for. She retired after 40 years as a nursing supervisor.

Marie was proceeded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jack E. Smith. She was a hard working mother of 5 children, working diligently to care for her family. Marie was also proceeded in death by her two sons, Mark E. Smith and Jeffrey J. Smith, her sister Helen Jean Kerrigan and her parents John J. and Helen F. Kerrigan. Marie is survived by her daughters, Karen (Smith) Braglia and husband Barry of Lewes, DE, Gail (Smith) Fink and husband Steven of Charlotte, NC, Anita (Smith) Prutting and husband Kenny of Stuart, VA, and daughter-in-law Joan Smith of Powder Springs, GA; nine grandchildren and 4 great grand-children.
Arrangements were made at Moody’s Funeral Service in Stuart, VA, and at a later date a Celebration of Life for both Marie and her son, Jeffery, who passed June 6, 2016 will be held at Robertaccio’s Funeral Home in Patchogue, NY. Both Marie and her son Jeffrey will then be laid to rest with our father at Calverton Veterans Cemetery.
