Mrs. Marilyn Barbour Cummings

Mrs. Marilyn Barbour Cummings, age 87 of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on July 11, 1929 to the late Andrew Lee Barbour and Rader Williams Barbour. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee “C.L.” Cummings; a son, Michael Cummings; and a brother Harold Barbour. Mrs. Cummings was a member of Stella Christian Church and attended Patrick Springs Christian Church. She had worked in the cafeteria at Hardin Reynolds Elementary School for 10 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Mrs. Cummings is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Leonard Lovell of Patrick Springs; four sisters, Lenna Martin and husband, Rudy of Patrick Springs, Dorothy Via and husband, Lee of Critz, Midge Tatum and husband, Coy of Patrick Springs, and Phyllis Patterson of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cummings will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Patrick Springs Christian Church with Pastor Gray Sands officiating the burial will immediately follow in the Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Patty Hazelwood, Memorial Gift Chairman, 1988 Wayside Road, Stuart, VA 24171.
