Mrs. Marjorie Gaynelle Spangler

Mrs. Marjorie Gaynelle Reynolds Spangler, age 88 of Meadows of Dan passed away Friday evening at the RJR Patrick County Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sept. 21, 1918 in North Carolina to the late Grover Cleveland Reynolds and Stella Shelor Reynolds. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dorn Odell Spangler; one son, Larry K. Spangler; one brother, Galen Reynolds; and one sister, Louise Reynolds. Mrs. Spangler was a long time member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and also sang in the choir.
Surviving are a son, Terry Spangler of Richmond; two daughters and a son in law, Phyllis Bryant of Chatham, and Sylvia and Charles Hawkins of Chatham; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Spangler, Allison Spangler; one step grandchild, Todd Eiklor; one daughter in law, Elizabeth Anne Spangler of Meadows of Dan; and two brothers, Gerald Reynolds of Meadows of Dan, and Walter Reynolds of Eden, NC.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Spangler Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
