Mrs. Martha "Irene" Green

Mrs. Martha “Irene” Green, age 88, of Mt. Airy, passed away at her home on December 5, 2016. Mrs. Green was born in Carroll County, VA on March 22, 1928 to Joseph Festus and Nettie Mae Largen Martin. She was a retired Cooperative Extension Agent and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a daughter and son in-law; Susan and James Swain; sons and a daughter in-law; Edward and Jessie Green, and James Green; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly Netolicky and Chad, Casey Swain and Jillian, Kathleen Rogers and Zachary, Molly Duke and Jessie, Amanda Boester and Jeff; great grandchildren; Max and Lincoln Netolicky, and Eliza Duke, and two on the way. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband Charles Frederick Green; a daughter Barbara Green; and brothers, Charles, and Joseph Martin. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Airy by the Rev. Griff Gatewood. Burial will follow at Gladesboro Lutheran Church Cemetery.
