Mrs. Martha Harris Nixon

Mrs. Martha Harris Nixon, age 87, of Mountain Park, NC passed away on Friday morning September 7, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. She was born in Surry County on April 22, 1925 to the late Willie and Lillie Nixon Harris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Spencer Nixon; infant sister Edna Harris, sister Alma Lee Marshall. She was a homemaker and retired from Washington Mills, was a member of Mtn. Park Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Albert Henderson of Mtn. Park, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law James "Bill" and Stella Nixon of Mtn. Park, NC and Nick and Margie Nixon of Roaring River , NC; seven grandchildren Christina and Keith Lashmit, Melissa and Scott Sanders, Robin and Mitch Callaway, Lisa Fleming, Steven and Christy Nixon, Teresa and Marc Salit, Michael Nixon; nine great grandchildren Beth Lashmit, Alisha Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Abby Callaway, Colby Callaway, Spencer Fleming, Edi Grace Nixon, Abbott Nixon, Eliza Nixon; two sisters Alice Marsh of Ronda, NC and Mary Harris of Elkin, NC. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday September 9, 2012 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, NC, with burial to follow in the Mtn. Park Cemetery. Dr. Carl Childs and Rev. Russell Nixon will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday one hour before the service.
