Mrs. Mary Anne Adkins

Mrs. Mary Anne Adkins, age 74 of Patrick Springs passed away Saturday at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born on Dec. 2, 1938 in Patrick County to the late Leslie Collins and Lois Fulcher Collins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Adkins; a great grandson, Scotty Martin; and one brother, Leon Collins. She was a member of Nettle Ridge United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Ray Fain of Patrick Springs, Doris and Bill Greenwale of Patrick Springs, Debbie and Jack Shelton of Bassett, Wanda Adkins and Donald Willard of Meadows of Dan; one son and daughter in law, Larry and Debbie Adkins of Ridgeway; 5 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Galloway of Madison, NC, Nancy Collins of Pine Hall, NC, Frances Mabe of Walnut Cove, NC, Wilmas Smith of Pinnacle, NC; and one brother, Franklin Collins of Stokesdale, NC.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor David Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Gauldin Family Cemetery in Axton.
