Mrs. Mary Lou Caudle Belton

Mrs. Mary Lou Caudle Belton, 85, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on October 12, 1927 to the late William Raynor and Beatrice Wagoner Caudle. Mrs. Belton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She retired from Leggett Department Store in Martinsville, VA. Mrs. Belton is survived by her husband of 57 years, Billy Allen "Bill" Belton of the home; a daughter, Cynthia Lou Belton of Richmond, VA; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Jo Ann Surratt, Evelyn Nowlin, Eva Joy Tickle and Glenda and Ralph Gough all of Mt. Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, William R. "Bill" and Frankie Caudle of Mt. Airy; an aunt, Mrs. Myrtle Wagoner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Belton was preceded in death by a sister, Adele Myers; three brothers-in-law, Bill Myers, Donald Tickle and Carlos Surratt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
