Mrs. Mary Estelle Bowman Bruner

Mrs. Mary Estelle Bowman Bruner, 80 of Mt. Airy, NC wife of Mr. D.C. Bruner, Jr. passed away surrounded by her family Monday, January 16, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born December 24, 1931 in Surry County to the late Wiley and Mary Elizabeth Norman Bowman. She was a certified nurse assistant. She enjoyed cooking, gardening her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 60 Years, D.C. Bruner, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Sherry Bruner Boyd, of Wake Forest, a son, Ronnie Curtis Bruner, of Mt. Airy; a granddaughter, Nikki Bruner of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Jason Boyd of Wake Forest; several nephews and a niece; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Bowman, Annie Bowman, Ruth B. Mills and Peggy Johnson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bruner was preceded in death by two brothers, R. C. and Clarence Bowman; three sisters, Louise Key, Virginia Ayers and Betty Gates; a great niece, Heather Bowman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Friends Meeting. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
