Mrs. Mary Eloise Turner Foddrell

Mrs. Mary Eloise Turner Foddrell, age 81 of Stuart, passed away July 30, 2012 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on September 29, 1930 to the late Harvey Lester and Josephine Mills Turner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foddrell was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ralph Foddrell; one daughter, Goldie Mae Turner Simenton Nichols; and two brothers, Robert Lee Turner and Murray Alfonzo "Babe" Turner. She had been a member of Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church since September, 1972, and had retired from United Elastic Corporation with over 30 years of service.
Mrs. Foddrell is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Burton Ray and Jennie Foddrell of Stuart, Marvin Donnell Foddrell of Martinsville and James Euel and Linda Foddrell of Liberty, North Carolina; six grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and four sisters, Elzene Turner Tatum of Stuart, Betty T. Vaughn of Adelphi, Maryland, Margaret Gerene Turner of Silver Springs, Maryland and Brenda Sue Smith Williams of Takoma Park, Maryland.
Funeral services for Mrs. Foddrell will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Manuel Jessup presiding. Burial will follow in the Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. A wake will be held Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
