Mrs. Mary Lou Moss Francis

Mrs. Mary Lou Moss Francis, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Monday evening, May 6, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Surry County, North Carolina on July 19, 1926 to the late William James and Minnie Goad Moss. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Francis was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester Francis; and two infant sisters. She had worked for J.P. Stevens for 32 years, had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with CCDF Fire and Rescue, loved volunteering at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center, and was very involved in fund raising for the Peters Creek Community Building. She attended Creasey Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Women's Club.
Mrs. Francis is survived by two sons, Jimmy Francis of Stuart, Jerry Francis and fianc?, Lucy Marion, of Stuart; two brothers, Dewey Moss of Stuart, Wade Morse of Florida; and one sister, Margaret Blackard of Stuart.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Mike Hundley officiating. Burial will follow in the Francis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
