Mrs. Mary Etta Snow Hamby

Mrs. Mary Etta Snow Hamby, 77 of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on October 9, 1934 to the late Thomas Mitchell and Ola Gertrude Stewart Snow. She was a loving homemaker and a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bill Smith of Walnut Cove; a sister-in-law, Carmen Snow of White Plains; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hamby; two brothers, Donald Gray Snow and William Snow. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting with Rev. Jake Penley officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the family.
