Mrs. Mary Jane Robertson Hawks

Mrs. Mary Jane Robertson Hawks, age 68 of Stuart, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on January 12, 1943, and was preceded in death by her father, John Robertson, Sr. and a brother, John "Jack" Robertson, Jr. She had worked at Spencer's and was a member of Rome Church in Laurel Fork. Mrs. Hawks devoted her life to caring for her family and had the ability to smile through the troubles and trials of life. She was a wonderful cook and her skills were very apparent during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays when she would make delicious meals for her whole family.
Mrs. Hawks is survived by her husband, Lawrence Hawks of the home; her mother, Mary Lou Inman Robertson of Stuart; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clarence and Lucille Robertson of Martinsville and Walter "Red" Robertson of Stuart; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gene Clark of Stuart; a sister-in-law, Florence Robertson of Stuart; one nephew, Johnnie Robertson; two nieces, Angela Bogle, Wendy Clark; and two great-nieces, Ashley and Claire.
A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Hawks on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the CCDF Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
