Mrs. Mary Helen Marion Holt

Mrs. Mary Helen Marion Holt, age 84, of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Surry Co. on March 13, 1931 to the late Alfred Jerry and Mittie Cave Marion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Gence Holt; step-mother, Hulda Freeman Marion; granddaughter, Allison Victoria Holt; sisters, Launa White and Edna White; brothers J.C. Marion and Roy Marion. She was retired from Tultex in Dobson, and gardened on her family farm. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Holt of Mt. Airy, Ralph Holt and Kathy Hardy of Rural Hall, Ottis Sr. and Gayle Holt of Mt. Airy, Danny and Tammie Holt of Mt. Airy; six grandsons, one granddaughter; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Marion of Dobson; special friends, Tim and Lynnette Badgett, Wayne and Teresa Haymore, Terry and Kelly Shelton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Welcome View Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Shelton, Rev. Tony White and Rev. Marty Reece will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.
