Mrs. Mary Overby Mitchell

Mrs. Mary Overby Mitchell, age 87 of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Universal Healthcare of King, North Carolina. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on February 20, 1924 to the late Harbour and Annie Puckett Overby. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Goins. She was a member of Stateline Primitive Baptist Church, and was retired from United Elastic Corporation.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Curtis Delmer Mitchell of the home; one son, Danny Mitchell of Westfield, North Carolina; one grandson, Danny Rain Mitchell; one brother, Frank Overby of Westfield; and a special friend and caregiver, Sylvia Burton of Westfield.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Stateline Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Jerry Cox, J.H. Keaton and Willie Brame. Burial will follow in the Stateline Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
