Mrs. Mary Louise Glass Neal

Mrs. Mary Louise Glass Neal, age 91, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, in Anderson, SC. She was born in Surry County on May 8, 1925 to Charlie Navy and Leliar Ethel Johnson Glass. Mrs. Neal was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Those who will always cherish her memory are a son, Robert Neal; grandchildren, Robert Leary and wife, Patricia, Matthew Neal and Alicia Boyles and husband, James Boyles III; great grandchildren, Morgan Dietz and husband, Wesley, Madison Leary, Tyler Ricks, Cooper Boyles, Harper Boyles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Patricia Glass and Jimmy and Peggy Glass; sisters-in-law Jean Glass and Mona Glass as well as her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Neal; a son, Mark Neal; sisters, Ruth Smith, Pauline Kirkman, and Thira Norman and by brothers, Willie Glass, Robert Glass and Charles Glass. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 20, 2017, at Bannertown Baptist Church by Rev. Mickey Cogdill. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bannertown Baptist Church, 1834 Westfield Rd., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
