Mrs. Mary Lou Scales Redd

Mrs. Mary Lou Scales Redd, age 69 of Stuart passed away Friday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on May 20, 1943 to the late John Henry Scales and Earline Dalton Scales. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. "Boley" Redd; a daughter, Alice Denise Morgan; a grandson, Quentin Redd; and two brothers, Raymond and Scott Scales. Mrs. Redd was a longtime member of Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church and had retired from United Elastic with over 30 years service.
Surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Tamra and John Lewis of Spencer, Shavonda and Thomas Teague of Stuart; three sons and daughters in law, Nelson Redd of Bassett, Bryant and Kim Redd of Patrick Springs, Chris and Nikki Redd of Patrick Springs; 11 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; two sisters and brothers in law, Elizabeth and Harold Broadnax of Eden, NC, Bonnie and Jesse Goolsby of Walnut Cove, NC; two brothers and a sister in law, Milton "Blue" Scales, Randolph "Chief" and Mary Scales all of Stoneville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the Redd Family Cemetery.
