Mrs. Mary Ellen Williams Scott

Mrs. Mary Ellen Williams Scott, age 80 of Woolwine passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on December 26, 1935 to the late Woodrow and Emma Nell Jones Williams. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by four brothers Billy Lee Williams, Johnnie Williams, Jessie W. Williams and Wade Williams. She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church and had retired from Bassett-Walker Industries.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Scott of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Scott of Meadows of Dan, Rose and John Wood of Stuart; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Lemuel Scott of Woolwine, Everett Scott of Stuart, Walter and Derina Scott of Stuart, George Scott of Bassett and Travis Scott of Woolwine; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Annette Williams of Claudville, Daisy Hylton of Woolwine, Jeanette Scott of Stuart; Joan Roop of Critz, Rachel Reynolds of Stuart; three brothers, Jimmy Williams of Ferrum, Danny Williams of Stuart, Sammy Williams of Stuart; and three special sisters-in-law, Agnes, Linda and Judy Williams.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Jeff Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery.
