Mrs. Mary Lawson Simmons

Mrs. Mary Lawson Simmons, age 93, of Stuart passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born on Apr. 1, 1924 in Stokes County, NC to the late John William Lawson and Murpha Nelson Lawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Babe” Simmons; a son, James Phillip Simmons; and a brother, John Junior Lawson. She attended Stuart Baptist Church.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Lindsey Simmons, Bryce Simmons; a daughter-in-law, Devon Simmons; and a special neighbor, Kathleen Layman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Joe Pauliks officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens.
