Mrs. Mary Lee Tatum

Mrs. Mary Lee Tatum, age 78 of Critz, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on December 15, 1937 to the late George Houchins, Jr. and Lucy Parker Houchins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tatum was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Tatum, Sr.; a daughter, Frances Tatum Wade; four sisters, Christine Reynolds, Annie Lee Howell, Margaret Prunty and Vivian Graves; and two brothers, George Houchins, III and Willie Earl Parker. She was a member of First Christian Church, DOC (Disciples of Christ), in Stuart. She had retired from Bassett-Walker with over 32 years of service and had worked as a custodian at Patrick County High School for several years.

Mrs. Tatum is survived by one son, Joseph Tatum, Jr. and wife, Debra of Critz; one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Tatum; one step-granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Hamm; two great-grandchildren, Teyonica Tatum and Shayla Tatum; two step-great-grandchildren, Madison Hamm and Michael Hamm; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Dr. Roger R. Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
