Mrs. Mary Jerelane Foley Thomas

Mrs. Mary Jerelane Foley Thomas, age 85 of Woolwine, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on December 24, 1931 to the late James Frank Foley and Vada Mary Sawyers Foley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Swanson Ray Thomas; a daughter, Patricia Ann Foley; two sisters, Odean Thomas and Pauline Foley; and four brothers, Alvis McCray Foley, Sr., Alexander Foley, Frank Foley and Grady Foley. She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church, and had been a school bus driver for 27 years with the Patrick County School System.

Mrs. Foley is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Bryan and Sylvia Foley of Collinsville, Alvin William and Rhonda Foley of Bassett; four grandchildren, Anthony Lee Foley, Samantha Pendleton, Mary Hayzlett and Alvin Foley, Jr., two great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Foley of Stuart; three sisters, Allene Foley and Nannie Bett Martin, both of Stuart, Brenda Adams of Ferrum; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Kenneth Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Foley Family Cemetery.
