Mrs. Mary Gunnell Vaughn

Mrs. Mary Princess Gunnell Vaughn, age 83, of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday February 20, 2016 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Vaughn was born in Patrick County on March 7, 1932, to Dixie and Ada Hawks Gunnell. Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Vicki V. and Fred Mashburn, and Donna Vaughn and friend Ronnie Waddell; grandchildren, Jessica Morrison and Dusty Goettel; a sister-in-law, Judy Gunnell; and a special nephew, David Gunnell and wife, Donna. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Melvin Vaughn, sisters, Marie Hall and Frances Pruitt; a half-sister, Nellie Lawson, brothers, Clyde Gunnell and a half-brother, Eugene Gunnell. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Mt. Calvary CME Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service..
