Mary Stedman (Steddy) Neal Weissinger passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009. She was born on August 25, 1929 to the late Mary Stedman and James Robert Neal in Stuart, Virginia.
She attended Averett College in Danville, Virginia and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia upon graduation where she lived for most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Spencer Eugene Weissinger, and her brother James Robert (Bobby) Neal. Mrs. Weissinger was a member of the Albemarle Chapter of the DAR and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Senior Center, Junior League and Monticello Garden Club. She was always active in her faith and cared deeply for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Weissinger Noxon, and husband George, and two granddaughters, Virginia Spencer Noxon and Victoria Stedman Noxon all of Winston-Salem, NC and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the Stuart Cemetery in Stuart, Virginia on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11 am. The family will receive visitors after the ceremony at Stuart United Methodist Church Social Hall. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help maintain the Stuart Cemetery, P.O. Box 82, Stuart, VA 24171 or the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation, 459 Locust Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements.
