Mrs. Mary Hardy White

Mrs. Mary Hardy White, age 84, of Dobson, NC, passed away on Wednesday morning July 17, 2013, at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center, in Elkin, NC. She was born in Surry County on September 30, 1928 to the late John Wesley Hardy and the late Martha Wall Hardy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Arlis Iona White; one sister Gracie Pridgen; five brothers Curtis, Marvin, Clinton, Porter, and Grover Hardy. Mrs. White was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Gina White of Dobson, Phillip and Pat White of Dobson; three grandchildren Brian White, Beth Johnson, and Justin and his wife Mary White; one great-grandchild Bailey White; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday July 20, 2013 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Kennedy with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 7 until 9 pm where her body will remain until time to be carried to the church to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the service.
