Mrs. Mary Sue Hazelwood Whitlow

Mrs. Mary Sue Hazelwood Whitlow, age 83, of Ridgeway passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on January 24, 1924 to the late Oscar Perry and Carlton Rodgers Hazelwood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitlow was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Shelton, and two brothers, William and Emmett Hazelwood. She was a member of Big A Church of Christ, a graduate of Stuart High School, and was retired as a sales clerk and monogrammist with Leggetts Department Store.
Mrs. Whitlow is survived by her husband of sixty years, John Dewitt "J.D." Whitlow of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and James E. Brown of Granbury, Texas and Cindy Shirley of Ridgeway; and two grandchildren, Benjamin Shirley of Richmond and Ann Brown of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Whitlow will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Big A Church of Christ with Brother Alan Caudle officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home.
