Mrs. Mary Summerlin Wilkins

Mrs. Mary Summerlin Wilkins age 81 of Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. William Watkins Wilkins passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at her home. She was born April 23, 1932 in Duplin County, NC to the late Herbert J. and Addie Jones Summerlin. She was a member of Rooty Branch Freewill Baptist Church and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Wilkins worked for the FBI in her earlier life and retired from Spencer's Inc. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee "Bob' and Katie Wilkins, Bruce and Wanda Wilkins, seven grandchildren, Will Allen, Leanne Frye, Kelly Hannon, Shea Sawyers, Mason Wilkins, Craig Wilkins and Aaron Wilkins: five great grandchildren, Caden Hannon, Braylon Hannon, Jack Wilkins, Anders Frye and Levin Frye, a sister, Katherine Tadlock of Mt. Olive, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Wilkins, Jr., a daughter-in-law, Martha Wilkins, two sisters, Nellie Williams and Addie Sparks and two brothers, Herbert L. Summerlin and Willie Summerlin. and her step mother, Lannie Summerlin. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel.
